What to Expect Guide to Facial Acupuncture and Lymphatic Treatments

In this blog, we will talk about holistic facial rejuvenation treatments, how they work, and what to expect. Facial Rejuvenation which combines facial acupuncture and lymphatic drainage aims to restore youthful and healthy-looking skin by reducing signs of aging. We will explore facial rejuvenation treatments with cosmetic acupuncture and lymphatic drainage and their role in wrinkle reduction and cheek-lifting, respectively.

The Importance of Skin Rejuvenation

We make faces all day- some are joyous others are frustrated or even scornful. No matter what expressions we make, over time they become etched into the skin. Why does this happen and what can be done about it?  In the post, I’ll explain about crystallization of fascia, blood flow, and how acupuncture needles and lymphatic drainage can help.  While of course keeping your face vibrant is important, it's just a manifestation of your overall health. In my clinic, I craft an individual treatment plan to address the overall energy of the body and how that impacts the vibrancy of the whole face. In a cosmetic acupuncture session, the main goal is to calm the body down to unlock the fascia. After that, a series of needles are inserted to bolster blood flow and even out skin tone. After this step, I do lymphatic drainage to help achieve a contoured look, reducing puffiness, improving dark circles, softening lines.

Understanding the Aging Process

Understanding the skin's aging process, it's all about the fascia.  You know about muscles, tendons, and ligaments, but have you heard of fascia? Fascia is a webbing inside the body that holds everything together. Its most basic definition is connective tissue. When the facia is healthy, hydrated, and, dare I say, young, it has a gel-like consistency, allowing movement and tissues to glide smoothly. What is also amazing is that on a second-to-second basis, the fascia is adapting to the environment. It can even suddenly stiffen when we feel threatened as if protecting us from bodily harm. The problem is that due to stress, we feel threatened quite often. Over time, age, and repeated expressions, the facia hardens, and our facial expressions create deep lines, sometimes even looking like a mask.

In addition, the natural aging process leads to a decline in collagen production and skin elasticity, causing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Factors such as sun exposure and dry skin further contribute to the visible signs of aging on the skin. Facial rejuvenation promotes improved blood flow, aiding in the renewal of the skin's epidermis for a more youthful appearance. The treatments are pain-free and natural, and several visits may be required to get the desired outcomes.

What It Means to Have a Facial Rejuvenation

Facial rejuvenation treatments are designed to optimize overall health and achieve excellent results. In the clinic, once I understand a client’s cosmetic concerns, like an abundance of fine lines or even deep 11s or water retention around the eyes, I can correlate that to underlying issues of extreme fatigue or frustration that’s showing up on the skin. To work on both the body and the face at the same time allows the chance to not just superficially influence the skin but to delve deeply into correcting the disharmonies of the body, with an aim toward healing and unveiling a more exuberant complexion.

These sessions last anywhere from one to two hours and are super relaxing.:))

The Aftercare of Facial Treatments

After undergoing facial rejuvenation treatments, it's essential to remember that their effects typically last for several months. To ensure prolonged results, follow-up treatments, and diligent skincare aftercare are crucial. Adequate sun protection, moisture, and consistent skincare maintenance also play a significant role in maintaining the treatment effects; in addition, my clients choose to take Chinese herbal Medicine to prolong the positive effects of the treatments and to help bring the body into harmony.

What's next?

Facial rejuvenation treatments offer a variety of options to help combat the signs of aging and achieve a more youthful appearance, and the use of acupuncture and lymphatic drainage is a big part of that effort to stimulate blood flow, release crystalized fascia in the face, reduce stress and also help stimulate collagen production. These treatments have proven effective in reducing wrinkles, lifting cheeks, and restoring volume to the face.

However, it is important to understand that caring for your skin's health is a journey, much like working out, the effects of these treatments are not permanent and require follow-up sessions for regular maintenance.
